What is FilterTag?

FilterTag is a simple-yet-powerful Shopify app that uses AI to tag your products—no spreadsheets or code. Install it once and let FilterTag keep your product tags perfectly organized while you focus on growth.

How does AI product tagging work?

We break it down into two parts:
‍
1.Tag based on product attributes
We suggest tags by analyzing your product title, descriptions, variants, etc., and identifying highly relevant keywords. You have full control on which attribute field our AI should focus on.

2. AI image tags
Instantly add descriptive tags based on what the Al sees in your product photos. Use custom instructions for even more control.

What happens if I reach my monthly limit?

If you hit your usage limit, your tagging tasks will pause temporarily and automatically resume once new usage becomes available. To keep tagging without interruption, you can upgrade your plan for additional tags or wait until your usage resets on the 1st of the month.

How long does the set up take?

Once you install FilterTag, you can start tagging products right away. FilterTag pulls your product catalog directly from Shopify, so there's no lengthy data processing wait. Just install, choose a tagging mode or set up your custom instructions, and start generating tags.

How does the Tag Scheduler work?

The Tag Scheduler automatically tags new products as they're added to your store. You set up a rule with a trigger (e.g., "A product is created"), an optional filter (e.g., "When category is Mugs"), and an action — either auto-generate tags using AI with custom instructions, or apply a fixed set of tags. You can pause or activate tasks anytime, and track their performance from the Tag Scheduler page.

Can I control the language and formatting of my tags?

Yes. In Tag Settings, you can choose the output language for generated tags and select a formatting style to keep your tags consistent across your entire catalog. A live preview shows exactly how your tags will look before you apply them.

What tagging modes are available?

FilterTag offers 8 preset modes: Product image tags, Product Attribute Essentials (color, material, size, vendor), Optimized for Search, Holidays & Gifting Themes, Audience & Scenarios, Key Selling Points, Sales & Inventory, and Custom Instruction. Each mode can be customized, and you can preview example tags before applying.
